Addendum: Shortly after going to work full time as a ground employee for Delta, I helped start a commuter airline called Southeastern Commuter Airlines, SCA, flying a Britain Norman Islander, and a Dehavilland Dove on my days off. The 2 other co-founders got some venture capital and started CCAir, in Charlotte, as a captive commuter for USAir. The commuter is now called Piedmont Airlines and still operates as a regional for USAir.
Because of my marketing background, I was frequently called upon as a public speaker by senior management, after I became a pilot,to speak about Delta Air Lines, and answer questions, many of which were marketing related. I represented Delta as a Public Relations Ambassador.
Many of these speaking engagements took place after the 767 purchase by the employees became world-wide knowledge.
